Kandra
I am Brian, and I am about to tell you a story that you are going to find hard to believe, but it is true. I swear it. I know as you look at me with my ragged clothes you will have doubts that I, an out-of-work trombone player could ever have this adventure of a lifetime. I know this is gong to sound like a fantasy story, but it's true.

It was a warm, sunny day as I walked through the woods nearby where we are standing now. It was a typical, day and I had no expectations of the day being any different then any other day. Perhaps that is part of the secret to life? Not to have any expectations. I spotted the most beautiful chocolate point Siamese cat lying down on a fairly large carpet. As I got closer I noticed the bright colors of yellow and red and the unique way that tigers were drawn into its designs. It was amusing to me that such a small cat was sleeping on top of designs of tigers.

I figured the owners of the cat and rug could not be too far away and was about to continue on my walk when the most amazing thing happened. The cat spoke to me! I see the disbelief in your eyes, but it's true. This gorgeous cat spoke to me in the softest of tones. "Come closer, human. I wish to speak to you."

Well, you can imagine my mouth hit the ground as I stared in shock. I really did not know what to say. "Human, get over it! It really shouldn't surprise you that cats can talk. We just don't really feel the need to talk to humans much. Consider yourself honored." The cat said.

I just kept staring, but I moved towards it saying, "Do you have a name?" Seems silly, but I had no idea what else to say at the time.

"Hey, the human finally speaks! Not often do they keep quiet. My name is Kandra. Kandra of Mystic Rainbow Rivers. Please come and sit beside me on this carpet."

The request seemed simple enough, and I went over and sat next to this unusual cat. Now I know this is the part that will shock you, as it shook me up really bad but, as I sat down on this carpet, it suddenly lifted into the sky, floating higher by the minute. Well let me tell you I screamed so loudly I was amazed that no one seemed to hear me. Not even the people walking just a few feet away. Kandra smirked and just told me to keep my balance, as it is a long way down and was a terrible fall. I see you moving away from me. I guess if someone was telling me this story I would be uneasy too. Please bear with me. I am sure you will believe me by the time I am done with this story.

Kandra explained to me that we were on a magic carpet. I always thought they were only in fantasy stories. I was wrong, as you will clearly see. I was told that there are many such carpets in Mystic Rainbow Rivers but only one could leave at a time to bring new people back. Kandra told me the story of her people while we were traveling through the air to her home. Her people and her land became invisible when they learnt that humans were no longer apes and becoming a danger to all living creatures. Their elders told them a time would come when a human would appear and would see one of us sitting on a magic carpet and this would be a sign that mankind was now ready to know of our existence. Kandra explained to me that it would now be my job to play my trombone three times a day with no pay. She taught me special music to play for any audience that would now listen to me.

Have you noticed how, while we have been talking, that many have now gathered to hear this story? It is now time for me to share the music that I have spoken about. With these words, Brian brought out his trombone and began to play the most beautiful music you could ever hear. As Brian plays his music all those who hear it turn into Siamese cats. Kandra then appears from behind a tree and guides all the cats back to Mystic Rainbow Rivers.

You see, the truth is that we have not always been humans like we have been told. In reality we are all cats but were changed into apes to protect us from our mortal enemies the human. Sadly and much to the surprise of the Elders we changed again into the very form of our enemies. Only the true cats from Mystic Rainbow Rivers find themselves drawn to my image of being a bum in the park playing my trombone. Only the true cats from Mystic Rainbow Rivers will find the need to read this story. It is now time for you to be converted back to the being that you truly are! Meow.

This is just a small sample of my writing of Children's Stories.
